18th May - No launch control for Jarno at Monaco.

Three out of the last four starts by an EJ11 have gone badly wrong with the car and driver being left standed as ten other teams fly past at both Spain and Austriia.
No team can afford for this situation to be repeated at Monaco. With the narrowness of the makeshift pit straight on the Monte Carlo street circuit there will be less room in which to manoeuvre cars and avoid potential disaster.

Earlier this week Heinz Harald Frentzen said that he would carefully consider all his options for next Sunday before deciding what to do. But team mate, Jarno Trulli, despite many sucessful tests at Valencia last week is adamant that he will not be using launch control in Monaco.

"It was the first time I have ever stalled on the grid, and I will never use the system again," he said emphatically. "I was not comfortable sitting on the grid like that. I personally won't use it. As for the other people, I don't know, but it's going to be very dangerous if anyone stalls on the grid at Monaco."

However Jordan chief engineer David Brown was a little more realistic about the situation stating that the team would make their decision following the qualifying session on Saturday.
