The Jordan Honda team successfully kicked off their four-day Monaco preparations at Spain's Valencia circuit yesterday with Heinz- Harald Frentzen driving EJ11 chassis 03 and test driver Ricardo Zonta in charge of EJ11 chassis 02.
In warm and windy conditions the team had a very productive day with both drivers completing many untroubled laps. Frentzen completing 81 laps (the most of the day) for the fourth best time of the day while Zonta finished 72 laps to finish just behind his team mate in fifth.
Frentzen's best time of 1:15.03 came after spending the morning working on suspension geometry and general set-up work while in the afternoon he undertook a tyre test program for Bridgestone. Zonta also worked on general set-up and tyre testing, posting a lap time of 1:15.58.
After the team's problems on the Austrian grid last Sunday, both drivers carried out successful launch control starts on at the pit exit at every opportunity and the team was satisfied with the day's achievements.
