1st June - Valentino Rossi to test for Jordan.

There are rumours that rising 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix star and championship leader Valentino Rossi will test a Jordan F1 car later in the year. Rossi who finished 3rd in the French MotoGP this weekend met up with Jordan driver Jarno Trulli at the Motorcycle Spainish GP 2 weeks ago..

Rossi got chatting to Trulli and reportedly asked Jarno about the chances of testing a Jordan F1 car. When Jarno returned to England he apparently suggested it to Eddie Jordan who was 'receptive' to the idea.

This would be a major publicity opportunity for both Jordan and Honda, who supply the Engines to Jordan and supply Rossi's GP motorcycle.

Valentino Rossi has won the 125cc and 250cc titles, both in his second year in the championship, and is leading the 500cc world championship....in his second year...

The last GP rider to test a F1 car was fellow Italian Max Biaggi who tested a Ferrari F399 2 years ago.

It wouldn't be the first time that Jordan have let someone out of the F1 scene drive their car. Rally driver Colin McRae tested the Jordan 196 in 1996 as Martin Brundle tested the Subaru Impreza rally car.
